12 DAYS: THE GREEN EAST AND SAINTE MARIE ISLAND

This 12 days safari you will be introduced to the world of the Indri indri - the renowned teddy bear-like lemur, which is also one of the largest lemurs on the island. The Andasibe and Mantadia National Park is home to the Indri indri, known for its impressive size and enchanting morning calls, as well as the rare black and white ruffed lemurs found only in Mantadia.

In addition, you will embark on a cruise along the Pangalana Channel that will take you to the private reserve of Palmarium on the Ankanin'ny Nofy Peninsula, the best place to observe the elusive nocturnal lemur known as the Aye Aye.

After your safari through Madagascar's rainforest, you can unwind on the beaches of Sainte Marie Island. Every year from July to September, humpback whale migrates along the northeast coast of Madagascar to mate and give birth.

Arrival

Arrival at the international airport of Madagascar, we will meet and welcome you at the airport of Antananarivo and will transfer you to your hotel. You will be briefed on your Madagascar guide at the comfort of your hotel. Overnight at your hotel on bed and breakfast basis.

Tana - Andasibe

We'll meet you at your hotel in the morning and then proceed along the RN2. We'll make a stop at the reptile reserve of Peyrieras to observe the colorful chameleons of Madagascar. After that, we'll continue driving until we reach Andasibe. Expect to arrive in Andasibe in the late afternoon. Overnight at the lodge.

Andasibe National Park Exploration

In the morning, we'll embark on an expedition to encounter the Indri, known as the world's largest lemurs, distinguished by their almost invisible tails. Along the way, we'll also have the opportunity to see other lemur species such as the brown lemur, bamboo lemur, woolly lemur, as well as other fascinating animals including chameleons and the giraffe-necked weevil. In the afternoon, we'll visit the private reserve of Vakona for an up-close experience with lemurs. Overnight at the lodge.

Andasibe – Manambato-Ankaninn’y Nofy

We'll depart from Andasibe for a scenic three-hour drive eastward to Manambato, passing through tropical wetland villages along the way. Upon arrival, we'll enjoy lunch before boarding a boat to Ankanin'ny Nofy, which translates to "Nest of a Dream." As the name suggests, Ankanin'ny Nofy offers a tranquil setting with its picturesque seaside and lakeside surrounded by lush vegetation typical of eastern Madagascar. Palmarium, situated on a 50-hectare peninsula beside Ampitabe Lake, awaits us. Here, you can indulge in swimming and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area. Overnight at the lodge.

Palmarium Private Reserve

During your visit to the private reserve of Palmarium, you'll find yourself surrounded by lemurs and immersed in the forest environment. While enjoying breakfast, you'll have the opportunity to observe lemurs such as the crowned lemur, black and white ruffed lemur,indri indri and other species active during the day. Additionally, you'll have the chance to see vanilla plantations, adding another layer of interest to your experience. If you're up for it, a night walk can be arranged to encounter the rare nocturnal lemur known as the Aye Aye, offering a unique and unforgettable experience in the wilderness of Madagascar. Palmarium-Manambato- Mahambo

After our time at Palmarium, we'll depart and sail back to Manambato. From there, we'll take the car and drive to Mahambo. This leg of the journey will offer another opportunity to soak in the stunning scenery and diverse landscapes that Madagascar has to offer. Get ready for a relaxing and scenic drive as we make our way to Mahambo for the next part of our adventure. Overnight at the lodge.

In the morning, we'll arrange for a transfer to the harbor of Mahambo, where we'll board a speedy boat bound for Sainte Marie. Enjoy the exhilarating ride as we cruise across the sparkling waters. Upon our afternoon arrival in Sainte Marie, you'll be warmly welcomed by the hotel crew. We'll make arrangements to transfer you to the airport of Sainte Marie according to your flight schedule, ensuring you have ample time to catch your flight back to Tana. International Airport Transfer

We'll organize transportation for you to the international airport of Tana, ensuring you arrive in plenty of time for your departure.
