Gorillas

Seeing gorillas in the wild is high on the list for many wildlife enthusiasts.
Gorillas are unique to the dense equatorial forests of central Africa.
There are two species of gorillas in the wild today.
The endangered eastern mountain gorilla, a subspecies of the eastern gorilla, and he western lowland gorilla , a subspecies of the western gorilla.
The eastern gorillas are found in the mountains area where Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo meet, and the western gorillas can be found mainly in the rainforests of Congo.

The gorillas live in family groups, led by a dominant silverback male. A group can consist of up to 30-35 members. They are herbivorous, with a diet largely of foliage and fruits.
They forage mainly in the morning and late afternoon, and use branches and leaves to build nests for sleeping.
